12.01.14a million things all at once…

With the holidays around the corner and my workshops in full affect, I’ve been a little crazed to say the least.  I have a holiday gift show that I’m really looking forward to this weekend at the Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton and I have a super good feeling about it… I’m really looking forward to spending the day with daughter, seeing familiar faces, and talking craft all day with fellow artisans.  In the midst of the madness around here though, I decided that now would be the perfect time to start an entirely new project (of course why not).  I started taking photos of my girls (my daughter and my step daughter) in my hand dyes and nuno shawls.  My plan is to build little books for each of them with these special photographs, something they can look back on and cherish forever.  This will be a work in progress for some time, but so far, sooo good… Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset I’ll be teaching a Last Minute Felted gifts workshop on the 10th at the EEAC.  This would be a great opportunity for you to bring your fibers and your ideas and let me help you conquer  some of your felted gifts for the holidays.  We’ll have 3 hours to crank through your felting wish list, and at the very least get started on a few things that you can finish up at home.  The workshop will be featured in Newsday’s Explore Long Island this week… very cool!  If you plan on signing up for the class, please email me with some of your thoughts and ideas so that I can come fully prepared with the right fibers and hand dyes…  If you’d like a nuno kit, I have hand dyed habotai silk and organic cotton here, if you’d like to felt soaps, we can do that too!  See you in class and until then happy felting!  The workshop is filling up so don’t wait too long to sign up…
